Terms of Service
Last updated: April 11, 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using Skillarq (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms form a binding agreement between you and Skillarq.
2. Description of the Service
Skillarq is a career management tool that allows you to upload past resumes, build a private database of your work history and skills, match that history against job descriptions, and generate tailored resume drafts. The Service uses AI to process and analyse your career content.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using Skillarq you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms.
4. Your content
You retain all rights to the content you upload (resumes, work history, job descriptions). By uploading content you grant Skillarq a limited, non-exclusive licence to process and store that content solely to provide the Service to you. We do not claim ownership of your data.
You are responsible for ensuring that any content you upload does not infringe third-party intellectual property rights or violate any law. Do not upload confidential company information belonging to former employers or content you do not have the right to share.
5. AI-generated content
Skillarq uses AI to extract skills, generate match scores, and draft resume bullets. AI output is provided as a starting point and may contain inaccuracies. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and ensuring the accuracy of any resume or application material you submit to employers. Skillarq makes no warranty that AI-generated content is accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.
6. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to fabricate false employment history or misrepresent credentials to employers.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service in bulk.
- Upload malicious files, scripts, or content intended to harm the Service or other users.
- Share account credentials or allow others to use your account.
- Use automated tools to access the Service at a rate that impairs performance for others.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Skillarq does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that resumes generated will result in employment outcomes. Use the Service at your own risk.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Skillarq and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of employment opportunities, lost profits, or loss of data. Our total liability to you for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, for a free tier, is $0).
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@skillarq.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without notice. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
